BMW PGA Championship

The European Tour's flagship event returns to Wentworth next week and here we look ahead at the field which includes the full European Ryder Cup team for the first time since Medinah!
The 2013 BMW PGA Championship begins next week and will effectively be a European Ryder Cup reunion with all twelve players from the victorious team competing at Wentworth for the first time since Medinah. Back-to-back champion Luke Donald leads the triumphant squad in his bid to become only the second player after Colin Montgomerie to win the tournament in three successive years, but he is sure to face stern competition from the likes of Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose! Hugo Boss are once again official sponsors of this popular tournament and we can't wait to see how the week unfolds!
Luke Donald MBE will need to re-focus having visited Buckingham Palace just this week to collect his honour, and with his 2013 form not quite at its sparkling best it will be a tough challenge to retain the title for a third year! The brand new RLX golf collection that Luke wears has been a huge hit with GP customers and having re-stocked on several occasions, there is plenty on offer across golf shirts, trousers and outerwear too. Also keep an eye out for young Italian Matteo Manassero wearing the RLX range at the famous Wentworth Club in Surrey this week!
Luke's toughest competition may well come from the world number two and Ryder Cup counterpart Rory McIlroy - who will aim to ignite his season with a strong performance and high finish at the BMW PGA Championship. Having faced much criticism over the switch of his equipment and apparel to big-spenders Nike Golf, Rory will hope to further silence the doubters and excel once again at the highest level. Another player recently signed by Nike is the young Thorbjørn Olesen and we very much hope to see this stylish Dane up near the top of the leaderboard after his sterling Masters finish back in April. All of the media focus at Wentworth will surround the 2012 winning Ryder Cup squad but we believe this future Ryder-Cup star could certainly sneak a top 10 finish this week!
Powerhouse designer label Hugo Boss are very active in their sponsorship of golf events and players and the BMW PGA Championship is one of the key dates on the Boss calendar. Each of the assistants and volunteers will be provided with clothing from the brand new Green Label collection by Boss, whilst players such as Martin Kaymer, Tom Lewis and Alex Noren will all be wearing the new Pro Collection and hopefully scoring well enough to reach the top of the leaderboard come Sunday afternoon! The iconic Boss Hugo Boss logo will be almost everywhere you look at Wentworth and we can't wait to visit the fantastic Boss Green tour truck as seen below!
We hope you enjoy the BMW PGA Championship this week whether you are lucky enough to have tickets or if you are watching on the box at home, and make sure you keep an eye out for the next Golfposer x Hugo Boss competition set to launch later this week!
