Trump Scotland Golf Day - VIP Experience with Puma

Our latest competition in association with Puma Golf gave you the chance to win a VIP Experience at Trump International Links in Balmedie, north of Aberdeen. Lucky winner Barry Smith opted to bring along his friend and colleague Ryan Phipps to enjoy their Trump Scotland Golf Day with some of the best weather we've seen in Scotland all summer!

Last month, we launched the competition where Puma Customers at Golfposer were entered into a prize draw to win this VIP Experience which would consist of pre/post match meals, two full Puma Golf outfits as inspired by the US PGA scripts, range balls to practice all on top of the Trump Scotland Golf Day fourball itself. Our Golfposer x Puma experience days are proving hugely popular and you can stay up to date with future competitions by signing up for the GP newsletter emails > here <

Trump Scotland Golf Day - The Match

It was decided that a friendly "skins" match-up would be the format for the day - an enjoyable and tactical method whereby one player would claim a 'skin' for every hole they won with any ties carrying over to the next hole (to a maximum of three). Barry Smith (7) started faster than anyone and took the first hole, whilst no one managed to claim the three-skins which came on offer at the fourth. Our other competition winner, Ryan Phipps (16) then took the fifth before another run of four straight tied holes meant only two skins had been won by the turn!

Refreshments were enjoyed before the back nine began and Barry managed to regain the lead with two more skins at the tricky tenth. Team GP then ignited their comeback with Johnny Wallace (5) claiming his first skin at the eleventh and Andy Coulter (8) winning three successive holes to tie the lead. Ryan joined the leaders with two more skins at the par 3 sixteenth, whilst Johnny finally decided to turn up to the competition and won the final two holes for a four-way tie!

Trump Scotland Golf Day - The Outfits

As noted, the two competition winners received two full Puma Golf outfits including a PWRWARM outerwear piece, Titan Tour golf shoes and also the scripted looks which Rickie Fowler wore at the US PGA Championship just last week. Barry took the Sodalite blue look from Saturday and Ryan the Vibrant Orange of Sunday, whilst team GP wore the Thursday and Friday looks as seen above.

It was a spectacular weather day upon arrival but the North Sea clouds came in towards the end of the day, catching out Puma's very own Johnny Wallace who left his PWRWARM popover in the clubhouse! As the temperature dropped, each of the other three were full of praise for how warm yet lightweight their PWRWARM apparel was thanks to the internal ceramic print.

Barry: "The Puma Clothing was out of this world. As a Puma fan, I already knew of the fit and quality of the shirts but it was my first time trying PWRWARM and even in the breezy links weather, I felt super comfortable all day long without the added bulk."

Ryan: "I actually have a ridiculously big collection of golf shoes but this was my first pair from Puma. The Titan Tour shoes were just so comfortable and I was actually most surprised that I could wear them straight from the box - testament to the comfort technology in there."

Trump Scotland Golf Day - On Location

Trump-Scotland-Golf-Day-18th

Trump International Links provided the setting for our latest VIP Experience day and words simply do not do this golf course the justice it deserves. Some of the most stunning scenery with some quite incredible holes, Trump International Links is located just north of Aberdeen and was well worth the wait. There is something quite special about teeing off from atop the mountainous Great Dunes of Scotland and seeing far and beyond, all the way along the East Coast, before quickly realising the testing drive which awaits on the 14th and 18th holes.

The par 3 holes also offer some spectacular viewing with their platform greens surrounded by treacherous sand dunes and punishing links rough, whilst the layout of the fourth and tenth holes are a joy to behold. A full course review from our Trump Scotland golf day will be featured in our eMAG very shortly, whilst an entire Facebook photo album (see below) will hopefully encapture just how special this course really is.
