TPC Sawgrass Pink Sunday Tradition
Posted at May 8, 2014
TPC Sawgrass will host 'Pink Out' Sunday at the 2014 Players Championship - where players & fans will all wear it pink!
It has become tradition at The Players Championship for players and fans to wear pink on the final day of the tournament at Sawgrass and 2014 is no exception. To mark Mothers' Day in the US and to also raise funds for Breast Cancer charities, the top professionals, their caddies and the spectators will all be encouraged to wear pink clothing on Championship Sunday, whilst many other 'Pink Out' themed initiatives will take place throughout the day. Last year, over $200,000 was raised for 26.2 with DONNA (a local research charity) through their association with TPC Sawgrass - a monumental figure which will hopefully be exceeded in 2014!
Most of the players who make the cut at TPC Sawgrass will opt to wear pink clothing in some form on Championship Sunday, with the three Puma Golf ambassadors almost certain to wear a Beetroot Pink themed outfit. Being the signature colour of Golfposer's Spring/Summer collection, we can't wait to see Rickie Fowler, Jonas Blixt and Graham DeLaet lined up for the final round of The Players Championship all wearing the hottest colour of the season, including our exclusive Beetroot BioFusion golf shoe. Check out our latest video, too, where Professor Gee and Ross from Team GP parody Aerosmith's famous Pink video in various Puma Golf outfits!
TPC Sawgrass is the flagship event on the PGA Tour Calendar and it is just fitting that the final day falls on Mothering Sunday in the US, allowing for the Breast Cancer awareness scheme to gain as much exposure as possible. Breast Cancer Awareness is of huge importance to Golfposer, too, with our recent fundraising efforts for Breakthrough Breast Cancer Scotland having only just begun earlier this year.
Keep an eye out for many more of our fundraising activities for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in the near future!
