TomTom Golfer GPS Watch Review - Test Pilot 2015

TomTom Golfer GPS Watch Review - Test Pilot 2015

Our most recent Test Pilot was sent on a mission to put the TomTom Golfer GPS watch through its paces and it was Stevie Hastie of Niddrie Castle Golf Club who was the lucky Facebook recruit. TomTom are renowned worldwide for their superiority in GPS technology and having recently ventured into the market of golfing GPS watches, we granted Stevie the chance to wear, test and keep one of the latest 'Golfer GPS' watches. Here is his TomTom Golfer GPS watch review:

First off, I really like the look of the TomTom Golfer GPS watch. It has a sleek design and looks very modern in white, easy to match with anything I wear. Being a keen golfer, I have tried several other similar devices in the past but I thought the TomTom was superior for various reasons.

TomTom Set-Up/Syncing

I found it a very smooth set-up after I downloaded the TomTom Mysports app and then connected the watch to the computer to create an account. Quick and as easy as you like without any trouble.

TomTom Course Availability

With over 35000 courses worldwide stored in the watch - I am still to find a course where I've been unable to use the TomTom Golfer, unlike other GPS watches I've used in the past. I have a golfing trip to Tunisia planned for next month and I have already been able to check course availability via the TomTom website, which is perfect.

TomTom Watch - Usability

I find the interface very nice and user-friendly. Using the 4-way navigational button just below the main screen really is very simple after playing with it a few times.

Course coverage is excellent and each hole view shows the hole number, par for hole, the distance to front/middle/back of the green and also an arrow pointing in the direction of any given dogleg. It also has the facility to tell you distances to all course hazards or suggested layup points.

You can also enter your score for each hole and see how many - or + to par, see how many calories you've burnt so far, the distance you have walked and how long it took for your round.

TomTom Golfer GPS Watch Review - Conclusion

Overall, a fantastic watch which has helped me so much since I've got it and I really have seen my game improve, especially with my iron play to greens. It's DEFINITELY been a huge asset and even helped me win my Club Championship this year at Niddry Castle Golf Club. Finally, my thanks to Golfposer for the Test Pilot opportunity - I can't wait to take it to Tunisia in July to test it out abroad!
