The Heritage of Hugo Boss Golf

Hugo Boss. One of the most renowned clothing brands in the world - there is simply no denying that they are one of the powerhouses in men’s fashion. With a history stretching back almost a century, we will explore how it has become a global success, with collections which appeal to a large range of consumers.

One of the main reasons for their success is their involvement in several sponsorship deals. Hugo Boss has sponsored Formula 1 – a popular sport worldwide – since the early 1970s. Their involvement in the sport continues to this day and the brand can be seen sported by former World Champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button for McLaren Mercedes. Another sponsorship deal Boss have long been involved in is the Davis Cup of tennis, another global sporting competition in which 142 countries compete. The brand can also be seen in sports such as the German Touring Car Series, Football (with Mario Gomes of Bayern Munich) and Sailing.

Though how can we forget the influence Hugo Boss have on the world of golf? The brand first got involved in our beloved sport in 1985 by sponsoring popular German player Bernhard Langer. The player list has grown to the current figure of 13 – including Major Champion Martin Kaymer, World Number 11 Nick Watney, Swede Henrik Stenson and also The Open Amateur sensation, Tom Lewis. Boss also currently sponsor three tournaments on the European tour (BMW PGA championship; BMW International open and UBS Hong Kong Open). Hugo Boss Green is about sport, lifestyle and ultimately looking stylish on course and off course. The Green line encompasses the brand values of dynamics, perfection and precision. Within Hugo Boss Green there is now a strong & growing presence of Boss Pro Collection.
