The second GP Challenge match took place at the wonderful Stirling Golf Club - affectionately known as 'Royal Stirling'!

The second match in the GP Challenge series saw two of Stirling Golf Club's finest talents - Ben Liddell (handicap 1.0) and Stewart 'one putt' Gillespie (handicap 6) - face off against team GP, comprised of Andy Coulter & Ross Ewen once more. The course, affectionately known as Royal Stirling by its members, was basking in sunshine when the match took place a few weeks ago and the beautiful weather was truly reflective of the course itself - a real joy to play on and in top condition! A close encounter was promised; Stewart 'one putt' Gillespie even had his nickname embroidered on his golf shoes - a title he would soon live up to!

Before the match began, Team GP aimed to get one-up on Team Stirling in terms of their golfing attire. As you can see above, team GP wore the brand new Puma Golf collection for Autumn/Winter 2014 with the Raglan Light golf shirts in two fresh new colour ways. The AW14 range from Puma is not available anywhere in the UK until July and thus, this appearance at Royal Stirling is an exclusive preview!

An eventful and high quality start to the match saw three collective birdies over the first two holes; 'one putt' drained his first two putts of the day whilst team GP's Andy also birdied the second to keep pace. Having gone 2 down momentarily at the fourth, team GP pulled it back to 1 behind with a birdie from Ross at the fifth - preventing the Stirling boys from running away with the tie!

A disaster for everyone at the sixth saw no balls hit the green, with the seventh also being halved. Team GP won the eighth to head into the turn all square - a fair reflection of the tie thus far! Ben Liddell, a Puma Golf fanatic, birdied twelve to grab the lead before Ross @ Golfposer birdied the par 5 thirteenth to square up once more. Another par for Stewart at fourteen was enough to put his Royal Stirling team in front for the fourth time and with holes running out, team GP never managed to get back into the tie and eventually lost 2 down with a birdie at the last for Stewart. No prizes for guessing how many putts he needed for that!

A great day for Team Royal Stirling as each member received a £25 gift voucher to spend online at Golfposer, whilst team GP could hold their heads high knowing that they were outdone by the masterful combination of Ben's distance and Stewart's exceptional putting ability (he one-putted nine times during that round!). A quality match at a quality golf course - we would thoroughly suggest paying 'Royal Stirling' a visit if you are in the area!
