Lyle & Scott Golf - New AW16 Collection Review

The new Lyle & Scott golf collection has now arrived online at Golfposer with brand new golf polo shirts, Merino knitwear and functional outerwear available. Take a look at the key styles as worn on the European Tour in 2016 below.

Lyle & Scott Golf - AW16 Range

Lyle & Scott enjoyed a successful return to Golfposer with their previous collection earlier in 2016 and we're happy to report that the new range for AW16 is even better this time around. Fresh styles feature across the entire selection of shirts, knitwear and outerwear with fashionable detailing, tasteful colours and sharp fits certain to please the eye and perform well on the course this season.

The return of the Lyle & Scott Gold Eagle was a real statement from the brand and has been welcomed unanimously; though the newly structured team behind the transformation knew there was even more work to be done. A strong signing was announced just prior to the 145th Open Championship at Royal Troon in the shape of James Morrison, already proving his worth with an impressive third place finish at the Paul Lawrie Match Play in Scotland. Fitting, too, since Lyle & Scott has such rich Scottish History and truly embraces its heritage with the Home of Golf.

Lyle & Scott Golf - Polo Shirts

Lyle & Scott golf shirts are designed with a keen eye for detail and implement many years of expertise into each and every style. The majority use a blend of cotton/polyester to provide a soft fabrication which is both moisture wicking and comfortable to wear in performance. Each of the Lamberton, Greenlaw and Heriot polo shirts are such styles and also adopt either a navy/red/white or slate/lemongrass/white combination for a distinctive look this season. We love the contrast in colours for each style, with the Heriot shirt standing out in the campaign imagery in particular.

Two brand new technical (100% Polyester) shirts are introduced for AW16 in the form of the Falahill and Newstead - lightweight and highly breathable for pure comfort. The Ashkirk shirt replaces the Ayton of old, whilst the Hawick Tech tour returns in many new colours for a fresh look.

Lyle & Scott Golf - Knitwear

As for the new Lyle & Scott Golf jumpers, the same colour themes run through the knitwear options with the Gillean V Neck and Gulvain crew neck boasting both the navy and slate colour ways - certain to catch the eye. Look out for the Kilbreck quarter zip sweater, too; this features window pane detail with both high quality cotton and coolMAX polyester woven through the fabric.

Lyle & Scott Merino golf jumpers are some of the best around and two styles are due to arrive online shortly. The Tolmount quarter zip is set to return with new colours to choose from, whilst the Crew Neck version (named the Macdui) will also be arriving soon.

Lyle & Scott Golf - Outerwear

Lyle & Scott golf jackets offer a superb level of comfort and protection on the golf course without compromising on style and aesthetic. We love the new Leithen jacket which features added stretch inserts and a soft shell, water resistant outer - meanwhile a new waterproof jacket is scheduled to arrive later in the season.

In keeping with the current trends in golf, the Irvine padded golf gilet is a stunning garment in the navy and black combination and makes use of Primaloft padding to provide exceptional core warmth in performance. This particular style also features branding at the elasticated armholes and waistband to offer a great fit and unique tour look.
