Guido Migliozzi is an absolute star in the making; anyone who witnessed his outstanding victory in Nairobi will be able to tell you that.

Watching his play across the weekend was a joy to behold. The impressive young Italian grabbed the tournament by the proverbial scruff of the neck on Saturday (Guido tied the lowest round of the week on Moving Day) and followed that up with a cool, calm and collected performance on Sunday. It really did seem like Guido was a seasoned professional well beyond his 22 years of age.
"I like the pressure, it's like a drug. I love playing with a lot of people and a lot of cameras looking at me," commented Guido after the victory. "I just kept patient towards the end and that was it. The pressure was a lot and I'm happy about how I'm playing under pressure, especially with my putting game that I worked a lot on."
To put this win into some kind of perspective, Guido Migliozzi was a 200/1 rank outsider at the start of last week's play. It was just his 8th European Tour start of the calendar year; the 14th of his career overall. This win will now open many more doors for Guido, providing him with a platform to progress his career even further - starting with the Maybank Championship in Malaysia later this week.

Guido Migliozzi's win in Kenya wasn't quite so much of a surprise to those of us who know him best, however.

We originally became aware of Guido after he entered into a relationship with Modest! Golf back in 2017 - the exciting new management agency which is fronted by Niall Horan. Through becoming the very first signing for Modest!, Guido was immediately put onto a pedestal in front of the media - but it soon became clear to see why he was so very highly regarded by all involved at the company.
In the weeks & months that followed, Guido went on to claim three victories on the Alps Tour. On each occasion, he showed all the traits of a champion while also looking remarkably comfortable in front of the camera and always speaking with confidence - despite English being a second language.
Guido became the face of Galvin Green's pioneering EDGE collection, while also securing sponsorship deals with established companies within the golf industry - Golfposer included. Our own partnership with Guido started in February 2018 and the whole team was thoroughly impressed with his demeanor and character when we played a round with him at Trump Turnberry later that year.
At that stage, Guido had his sights set on qualifying for the European Tour through Q-School and we were never in doubt that he had the capabilities within him to do so. By Guido's own admission, he simply had to remain calm and play a sensible game at the most crucial moments - a mantra which clearly stood him in good stead for a reigning supreme in Kenya this week.

That being said, Guido's self belief and attack-minded game is another critical factor in his recent success. His phenomenal tee shot down 18 set him up to attack the pin, doing so in spectacular fashion; the ball took two bounces and slammed into the pin before finishing around 10ft away. Guido can probably count himself unlucky to not hole that from the fairway - but the quality of the shot was enough to allow for some passionate celebrations then & there.
Ever since we met Guido, we knew that he was destined for success. It made our whole team at Golfposer incredibly proud to see him revelling in the limelight and we know that this win in Kenya will be the first of many more. He has proven that he has the talent, the work ethic, the determination and the mental fortitude for success at the highest level. We know that winning the Kenya Open will have made his family and his country so proud; he has the world at his feet and we can't wait to see what this win will mean for his career. Forza, Italia; Forza, Guido!
Guido Migliozzi was the first signing for Niall Horan's Modest! Golf Management company and currently wears the Galvin Green collection on tour.
