Learn more about the brand new adidas Tour360 XT golf shoe family which will launch online at Golfposer on February 1st 2019.

adidas Tour360 XT | BOOST Shoes

For many years now, adidas golf shoes have been among some of the most in-demand styles on the market. More specifically, it's been the success of the Tour360 golf shoes which have proven incredibly popular thanks to their continued reliability, timeless styling and outstanding degree of comfort.

At long last, adidas have just announced that this very same silhouette will finally become available in a spikeless version for the first time ever. That means you can enjoy all the same comfort, stability and performance both on and off the golf course with a shoe style that you already know, love and trust.

adidas Tour360 XT | Spikeless

We simply love the spikeless Tour360 XT-SL golf shoes. They make great use of the Tour360 upper with high quality leather and immaculate stability, while the full length BOOST cushioning will provide unrivalled responsive comfort for hours-on-end. A newly developed "X-Torsion" tunnel also helps to provide even more stability through connecting the heel & forefoot - all without compromising on walk-in comfort and flexibility.

Where the real ingenuity comes into play is with the spikeless outsole. It's something that adidas golf have enjoyed success with in the past - but the "adicross" styles are all primarily built for wearing off the golf course with a decent, but not extraordinary, level of traction.

Hence, the inspired development of "X-Traction" technology and who better than Masun Denison (adidas global director of golf footwear) to introduce it?

“We wanted to make the highest performing spikeless shoe in the industry. We tested all shapes and configurations and found that the X-shape, along with a rubberized TPU outsole, provided unmatched grip, stability, flexibility and performance. The X-shape also increases ground contact and provides more comfort on all surfaces.”

The lugs are intelligently designed with a variety of heights utilised, hence offering better traction in key areas. It's so good, that the very same X-Traction technology has been used as the underlying basis for the top level cleated Tour360 XT.

The outsole feels soft and durable enough to walk on harder surfaces, but a lot more different to the adicross Bounce outsole when it comes to wearing on the golf course. The brand wanted to make the highest performing spikeless golf shoe on the market and we think they might just have done that with the adidas Tour360 XT-SL.

adidas Tour360 XT | Tour Version

As mentioned, the adidas Tour360 XT golf shoes are the cleated version which will also come to market on February 1st.

In comparison to older models, there are improvements in underfoot traction performance thanks to the introduction of the aforementioned "X-Traction" technology - while the flexibility has also been vastly improved. Flexibility in a golf shoe might not seem like a priority - but the biggest shoe addicts among us will know that getting this balance correct is the key to overall comfort for 18 holes or more.

To do this, adidas have removed two of the cleats on the outsole - reducing the number from ten to eight. As a result, the overall weight is also slightly reduced - another positive difference which will benefit the wearer greatly. The weight is further reduced by using a new forging technique which adjoins the iconic 3-Stripes branding to the rest of the upper.

A new INSITE sockliner also helps improves stability and balance by cupping the heel which helps promote better posture - while the BOOST cushioning also now features a slightly wider shape to further improve stability through the golf swing. Finally, a lower profile provides the wearer with a lower ground feel - while arguably also improving the overall aesthetics.
