Gents Under Armour Golf Wear

Under Armour; for Golf and beyond!

Under Armour has rapidly become one of the most popular golf base layer brands amongst athletes – both amateur and professional. Base layers are primarily what Under Armour are renowned for, but their collection doesn’t stop there. Mid-layers, golf jackets and golf trousers are also available alongside golfing accessories like hats and gloves! Sportsmen and women from a wide range of sports opt to wear the Under Armour brand all year round because of the incredible technology that goes into their garments, combating against extreme weather conditions. Here, Golfposer look to give our customers an insight on the ColdGear range we have on offer – explaining why Under Armour Cold Gear and outerwear pieces are so effective in cold weather.

Everyone will have childhood memories of being told to ‘wrap up warm or you’ll freeze to death!’ on those chilly winter days playing outside, and now that you are all grown up – Golfposer still offer the same advice! Though, there is no need to ‘wrap up’ with Under Armour base layers. The innovative technology keeps you warm, dry and light all at once in order to keep you as comfortable as possible on your round of winter golf!

Designed by athletes for athletes, Under Armour was created to give you a sporting advantage over your opponents. Converging science with sport, the snug-fitting  Compression Tops help to increase blood flow to your muscles during performance – increasing muscle efficiency to give you more power and reduce fatigue. The double sided fabric wicks moisture away from your skin and circulates body heat to keep you at a consistently warm temperature. The unique moisture transport system, with its brushed fabrication, combines thermal protection and moisture management with a superior slip-on feel for added performance and comfort.

Wearing Under Armour ColdGear in the winter will make you forget about the cold weather and allow you to focus on your game. The 7oz fabric and a double knit construction combine brilliantly to create a ‘microclimate’ right next to your skin – meaning you will stay warm and dry but never overheated. Almost like a ‘second skin’, the brushed polyester fabric of Under Armour base layers pushes moisture away from the skin’s surface toward the fabric, which in turn pulls the moisture to the surface of the base layer where it rapidly disperses and evaporates.

Ideally suited for use at 13 degrees centigrade and below, Under Armour Golf ColdGear is a must-have for winter golf – especially in Scotland! The brand is trusted by many athletes – including English golfing sensation Ross Fisher. Ross has been a top golfer for some time now and he believes Under Armour ColdGear enhances his game through aiding concentration and comfort. Ross has been spotted wearing the excellent waterproof Under Armour Storm jacket which has ColdGear zone inserts – strategically placed for warm, dry and light comfort. Also featured is a four-way stretch for a minimal swing obstruction and an adjustable bungee at the waist for a secure fit. The Armour Storm jacket comes in two colours in the quarter-zip version and the full-zip style comes in black/blue. Match this up with the waterproof Armour Storm pants for a stylish, dry look this winter!

With anatomical design for the male body-shape, it is clear to see why Under Armour is a popular brand amongst many golfers such as Hunter Mahan, Jeff Overton and Gary Woodland! Under Armour mid-layer garments are an absolute steal and come in trendy colours such as pure blue or grey/yellow – keeping you looking good, feeling good and playing better this winter! Under Armour have also incorporated their ColdGear technology into their regular trousers – which are finished in a stylish check pattern or plain black. Golfposer also have available a wide range of Under Armour winter golf accessories, like golf gloves; reversible beanies and bobble hats – all ideal Christmas gifts for your loved ones!

Under Armour base layers are a top favourite amongst the Golfposer team, and we almost guarantee it will become an essential for your winter golf if you try it just once! We love them so much that we don’t just wear our mock neck base layers for golf – but on regular days out in the chilly Scottish winter too! Coming in a variety of stylish colours, you can mix and match to find a base layer for every outfit – and the number of times you will wear your base layer, you will quickly realise how much of a bargain you are getting!

Introducing Luke 1977 Online!

NEW BRAND: Luke 1977

Golfposer are excited to introduce another fantastic brand to our already impressive list; Luke 1977. Primarily a fashion brand for the younger male, we believe that Luke is not just for fashionable youths but would look just as good (if not better) on an older male too! Having planned the introduction for Spring/Summer 2012, Golfposer.com couldn't wait until next year so we went all out to get our hands on some quality pieces for the current season. Luke 1977 pride themselves on their tight distribution policy and we are very grateful to be named stockists. Golf Poser here aim to delve into the short history of Luke 1977 and explain why it has become just so popular so quickly.

Luke 1977 was co-founded by a man named Luke Roper in 2001. Growing up in Walsall, Luke’s mother worked as a talented wedding dress maker and so, from the young age of 10, Luke was becoming increasingly skilled at using a sewing machine. Being surrounded by fabric cutting and sewing through his teenage years, Luke interest in the whole garment-making process grew substantially and by the age of 15 he was producing his own shirts. Luke would even head down to his local ‘Old Bull Ring’ market to find the fabrics he wanted to use in his shirts – a sign that he already had an eye for quality – then he would sell the finished pieces on to his friends at school. Inheriting skills from his mother, Luke’s shirts proved a big hit for the youthful clubbers of the time and even moved on to producing trousers for them three months later.

Profits from his business enterprises helped to fund Luke through courses at his local Walsall College, to study fashion and textiles, and then a 3 year degree in Menswear Design at the renowned Central St. Martin’s College of Arts and Design, London. Graduating in 2000, Luke went straight into work with a big fashion label as Junior Designer. He set his sights on three years of work experience in this job yet left after just six months and created his own independent brand along with two lifelong friends – Deborah and Simon Poole. In the early days of the brand, Luke used to personally travel the country with some of his menswear collection in the back of his van and try to get his clothing into any shop that might take them. That is all change now though, as Luke 1977 very carefully choose their stockists and have five of their own stores across England and Wales, with a sixth due to open in London soon.

Needless to say, Luke Roper incorporates his skill and drive for quality into every piece Luke 1977 produce. The designs are known to be edgy and contemporary, yet still practical. Luke is a very design focused brand and this is clear to see from some of the trendy men’s polo shirts and fashionable designer jackets. There is a lot of attention to detail and a high level of craftsmanship that goes into Luke garments – helping the brand win Drapers Young Menswear Brand of the Year in 2010.

Luke 1977 polo shirts, knitwear and jackets are big hits in the celebrity world too. Despite being a fashion brand, Luke can actually be seen worn by European Tour golfer Mark Foster – who has had a top three finish at both the French Open and the BMW International Open this year. Another local golfer, by the name of Richard Challoner, also wears Luke 1977 so it would not look out of place on any golf course! Other sportsmen have also been spotted wearing the Luke Lion Crest, such as Rio Ferdinand, Nani and Marc Albrighton of Aston Villa – not forgetting arguably the most stylish man on the planet David Beckham! Other famous supporters of Luke 1977 are boxer Frankie Gavin, fighter Alex Reid, stylish singer Dane Bowers and popular actor Joe Swash. As we mentioned earlier, Luke is not just for youths. Incredibly stylish men such as Eastenders’ actor Scott Maslen, actor Stephen Graham and also presenter Terry Christian proudly wear Luke 1977! Luke has also featured in a variety of magazines like FHM and 69, and has also been on display on TV shows like the Inbetweeners (along with Farah Vintage which we featured back in October)!

Now that you know about Luke 1977, we guarantee that you will begin to recognise that famous Lion Crest and subsequently notice the aesthetic appeal of the Luke 1977 menswear collection!

Puma Golf Shoes Online

Puma Golf Shoes: Essential Golf Wear!

The golf shoe is arguably the most important piece of apparel you need on the golf course. The average distance walked on an 18-hole course is 5 miles, even forgetting any treacherous hills you may encounter. The shoe is also a crucial part of a good golf swing – providing a base for grip and stability. We all need to look good on the course and a trendy pair of golf shoes finishes off any outfit perfectly. Therefore the best golf shoes must be comfortable, functional and stylish – everything that a Puma golf shoe has!

Golfposer stock a variety of golf shoe styles by Puma Golf – all of which contain the very intelligent ‘SMARTQuill®’ technology. This revolutionary technology features TPU spikes that are specifically positioned at certain angles that customise traction throughout the backswing, through the downswing and into the follow-through. The spike system is designed to be as lightweight and comfortable as possible, whilst the spikes themselves can easily be removed and replaced when required. All of our men’s Puma Golf shoes incorporate a fast-twist locking mechanism which allows the cleats to be removed with just three anti-clockwise clicks. This also means that the spikes will always be in the correct position when manually put back on with three clockwise clicks. This technology is ideal for extending the durability of your Puma golf shoes – since a pack of 16 replacement spikes can be bought inexpensively from Golfposer!

The first
golf shoe we will look at is the massively popular Puma Cell Fusion and new Cell Fusion 2! The original Cell Fusion – a golf shoe made famous by Puma star Rickie Fowler – has an upper that consists of full grain leather and synthetic microfiber leather, which is both water resistant and breathable. The midsole contains EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) technology which is a blown microcellular material providing a lighter and flexible fit around the centre of the shoe. Puma have also incorporated iCell technology into the Cell Fusion which provides optimum shock absorption and stability throughout the golf swing! This iCell technology features in the heel and forefoot, containing an array of hexagonal inner cell components for extra cushioning. Inside the shoe is a treated lining at the foot-bed cover for temperature control and anti-microbial properties for maximum freshness, comfort and breathability. To finish off this technologically advanced golf shoe, Puma have added extra TPU teeth into critical areas on the sole for added grip – not forgetting the SMARTquill® technology used with every Puma golf shoe!

The Puma Golf Cell Fusion 2 – a new style for this season – brings the original Cell Fusion on a step further and features a new upper, with high frequency welded quarter panels in the saddle and heel areas giving extra support to the foot. Both styles come with a 2-year waterproof guarantee which ensures that the Cell Fusions are the best of the best.

The Cell Fusion is available in white/orange; white/silver and black/black.
The
Cell Fusion 2 is available in white/silver/orange; black/white; graphic style and the funky A/W ’11 Puma Special Edition black paint splatter design.

Next we will take a look at the Puma Harpia style! These incredibly comfortable golf shoes feature an upper of full grain and synthetic microfiber leather – with a 2- year waterproof guarantee like the Cell Fusions! The Harpia also has the EVA midsole which provides greater ease of movement and flex in the forefoot. The exclusively designed TPU outsole of course has SMARTquill® technology and also has the extra teeth in specific areas to provide greater grip and traction throughout your golf swing. Look good and feel better with the Puma Harpia golf shoe – which comes in white/black/red or black/black!

The Puma Popart 86 arose from a combination of design language from Puma’s RS100 running shoe and the motorbike inspired Club 917. The result is a trendy golf shoe which is sporty, smooth and functional too. The SMARTquill® cleat technology is this time complimented by idCell technology which is a low-density cushioning unit which provides added protection through increased shock-absorption. The midsole board reinforces stability and provides support where the foot needs it most, whilst the foot-bed is perforated for extra breathability. The Popart 86 comes with a 1-year waterproof guarantee and is available in white/orange and also black/grey.

The Puma Jigg is arguably one of the most comfortable golf shoes around. The Jigg provides extra stability to the golf swing through an intelligent external TPU shank, alongside greater protection at the toe with a stylish reinforced, high abrasion toe-guard. The foot-bed again uses EVA technology and the Jigg comes with a 2 year waterproof guarantee so it isn’t just a pretty face! The Jigg comes in white/silver, white/orange and black/white!

Finally, we will take a look at the previously mentioned Puma Club 917. These golf shoes are favoured by Swedish golfer Johan Edfors – and it’s no wonder, these shoes look the business! With the design inspired by the Puma Motorsport collection, wearing a pair of Club 917s on the course feel like you are wearing your favourite trainers! The smooth looking shoe uses SMARTquill® technology and also uses the idCell technology that features in the Popart 86. EVA technology is also present for a flexible fit, whilst the perforations also increase breathability. A 1-year waterproof guarantee caps this shoe off as a must have in your golf locker! The club 917 is available in black/white/red; white/black/blue and also stylish blue/yellow.
